Authorities release name of woman killed in SUV-semi crash south of Hawley
Apr 19, 2018She was married to Justin Halvorson in 2012, and they had a 5-month-old son, Hoyt.The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. at Highway 31 and 120th Avenue South, said Clay County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Mark Empting.The driver of the semi was Daniel Anderson, 45, of Hawley. He was not injured in the crash, Sheriff Bill Bergquist reported.The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Minnesota State Patrol.Funeral services for Halvorson will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at Barnesville High School with the Rev. Jim Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Rollag Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the high school. Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville is handling the arrangements.Jaynie Renee Herbranson was born on June 9, 1989, to Dave and Joanne (Krabbenhoft) Herbranson in Fargo. She was baptized and confirmed at Rollag Lutheran Church.She attended school at Atkinson Elementary School and graduated from Barnesville High School. In high school, she was involved in a wide range of activities, including volleyball, basketball, track, band, Future Farmers of America, National Honor Society, Renaissance, and Student Council.She was also active at Rollag Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school, 4-H, and Town and Country softball. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, where she played basketball.She married Justin Earl Halvorson on July 27, 2012, at Rollag Lutheran Church.Halvorson obtained a master’s degree in occupational therapy at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. She worked as an occupational therapist for the Lake Agassiz Special Education Cooperative at several area schools, including Barnesville, Hawley, Ulen, and Lake Park.She had coached girls basketball, seventh-grade boys basketball, volleyball, track, and speed and strength for Barnesville.Online condolences may be shared at www.dobmeierfuneralhome.com.
